Ciigii grew up in a creative family environment in ‘Den Haag, Holland. Both her parents painted. Her father was taught by Co Westerik.
He would take the young Ciigii along with him sometimes to those lessons, as she was an avid drawer from a young age.
She attended the Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten, before attending De Vrije Academie in Den Haag,

Later on, she discovered mixed media and honed her own personal style of creating images. Her attention to detail comes through in her paintings, allowing the viewer to discover more the longer he looks at the image.

Over the past 20 years, Ciigii has traveled and lived extensively in different countries, including San Francisco (USA), Sitges (Spain), Albufeira (Portugal), Ibiza (Spain), France and later Tenerife and the UK.

She has been involved in the jazz scene for about 9 years.

Ciigii has exhibited her work in numerous locations, including: Rotterdam (1974), San Francisco (1976), Lisboa (1980), Tenerife (1982), Den Haag (2007) group show at Anton Design and Comestibles Sheremetev Sint Petersburg, Russia (2014), view the Russian movie.

“I never plan a drawing. I put pen to paper and begin to draw, however my hand moves. Then I step away from my work , to observe the shapes that I have created. I wait for something to unfold itself and to emerge. I then develop my work with color, creating my own narrative.”
